For ten nights in April 2015 Broken Hearted Youth proudly presented Dennis Kelly’s DNA at the Brockley Jack Studio Theatre in South East London.
“There’s a dark secret in the woods.
A teenage game gets out of hand,
and now there’s hell to pay.
But who will fit the bill?
As things spiral out of control
a modern day morality tale unfolds.”
"I was absolutely bowled over with the sheer talent that this young cast possessed. They performed their parts with ease, each adapting to their characters flawlessly. Even when not the sole focus within a scene, each performer still kept up their persona, making the reality of the whole play tremendously believable."
Christine Stanton (remotegoat)
"This production by Broken Hearted Youth Theatre is stunning. The ensemble cast is splendid, the play's message as chilling and relevant about teenagers as ever... The play has not lost its power to shock and there are revelations to take the breath away. This production does it full justice."
William Russell (Reviews Gate)
DNA is a genuinely unnerving story, delivered at a relentless pace. There is very little time to take stock of events and the high level of drama rarely wavers from start to finish."
Hanna Gilbert (Everything Theatre)
"Overall, "DNA" is an excellently crafted play that has been extremely well staged by the Broken Hearted Youth Company who bring every ounce of their youth and enthusiasm to the show, delivering a first rate theatrical evening to a grateful audience."
